History

PT Lautan Jaya Kumala (“LJK”) history started in the early 70s when the founder and self-made entrepreneur, M. Djaja started the business as an inter-island transporter of goods.  He then developed the business into construction, owning a large fleet of heavy equipment.  LJK warehouse started in 1992 when Djaja further expanded his businesses into warehousing and logistics. LJK was the pioneer that started operating as a warehouse provider in then, a newly set up industrial estate and logistic hub named KBN Marunda. The first warehouse was built in Marunda, an ideal location only 4 km away from Tanjung Priok Port, which is Jakarta’s major port. Aside from the close proximity to Tanjung Priok Port, another port facility 1.5 km away named Kalibaru Port started operating in 2013.  LJK expanded its businesses to include a new location in Cibitung, brand-named KM22. As the name suggests, KM22 is located 22 km away from Jakarta City Center, along Jakarta – Cikampek toll road, one of the most significant National infrastructures and the artery of transportation that is essential in connecting Jakarta and Bekasi to other cities located along the north coast line of Java Island. Today, LJK operates as a 3PL provider with operation bases in Marunda, Cibitung and Tangerang, covering logistical and distribution/transportation activities within Jakarta and Greater Jakarta. As it stands now, LJK owns and operates a total of 20 hectares of warehousing/storage facilities. Other facilities within LJK premises include 3-in-1 shophouses/warehouses, dry-bulk storage, cool-room and freezer room facility, etc.

Supported by a staff strength of more than 200 employees, LJK’s customers include, among others: Mitsubishi, United Tractor (Caterpillar), Covestro, YCH, Goodpack, Kerry Logistics, KWE, Mitsui-Soko, Astra Motor, Total Oil, Baker Hughes, Sojitz, Blue Scope, etc. LJK is constantly seeking opportunities to expand its business further. It aims to be a one-stop end-to-end logistical provider in Indonesia, in the industry that is rapidly growing.

Certification

LJK attained ISO 14001 / ISO 9001 / OHSAS 18001 certification since 2008 and is currently implementing a tailor-made software as a WMS in its premises.
